Change of scenery

Not sure how much anyone knows of what me and the boy have been through lately, but since my last posting the Dexters have moved house.

The new house is tiny, I lost my studio space and my entire world is in boxes. But the good news is a-coming.

I found a real studio, it's expensive, but perfect, high ceilings, windows on 2 sides, 24 hour access and an accessible water supply. I can fit everything in and run workshops there.

I now have a full time job, with the best possible shift pattern. I'll be working 2 days and then have 4 days off. Fabulous.

The house is still tiny, but now it feels less of a come down and a reduction in my life.

I had a few days where it all felt completely overwhelming, that I had lost everything, and I was never going to get back to where I was before. Sometimes I let go of the reality of a situation and let myself fall into the black hole. Only this time it wasn't much of a hole.

Back on track nearly. Soon to be a real artist with a real studio and perhaps a place where I can start to sell my work.

Well eventually.

Thank you. Feeling a bit more settled and a lot less depressed. Finding the studio only 5 minutes away from the house makes life simpler and more relaxed. I now have a place to work and sell from and I can run classes.

First of all that banner picture is wonderfully done!!!
Such movement...Love it.

Well, you sound like you made big pitcher of lemonaide out of the lemons of the smaller house move.

The studio sounds terrific. How close is it to the house? I hope this all works well for you and I will visualize you selling lots and lots of art more than you can keep up with!!! Hows that?
Oh I just ready your comment to Suki and see you are very close to the studio...Wonderful. So happy for you. And a little house means less to have to keep up/clean.

Well lemonade sure is refreshing on a busy day! I feel like things are going to be really good from now on and you're right Lynn, smaller house, less cleaning!

Sam, so glad things are coming together and working out for you.
I envy you that studio! I would love to give classes, but my house is too small. xoxo

Sounds like you've been through the mill. Kudos to you for coming out the other side with your optimism still intact.

Envious of the studio. You must be so excited!

Can I join the queue of people who are envious about your studio? What kind of workshops are you going to do? Despite my minimalist approach to college attendance I'm going to miss my weekly dose of irl artists so may want to come and join in - and possibly help if you like :)
